2010 Membership Requirements

 

CREW Tampa Bay has four categories of membership – General, Executive, Associate and Affiliate.  The criteria for each category are listed below:

o    Accounting

o    Appraisal

o    Architecture/Interior Design/Space Planning

o    Asset Management/Property Management

o    General Contracting

o    Corporate Real Estate

o    Development

o    Engineering/Surveying

o    Environmental

o    Finance/Lending/Mortgage Banking

o    Government / Non-Profit Association

o    Commercial Insurance – Property & Casualty/Liability

o    Land Use/Urban Planning

o    Law

o    Real Estate Advisory / Real Estate Consulting

o    Real Estate Brokerage

o    Real Estate Owner / Real Estate Investor / REIT

o    Title Insurance/Escrow Services

 

 

Membership Criteria

 

Application for General Membership in CREW Tampa Bay is open to commercial real estate professionals who meet the following criteria:

o    Active employment in the field of commercial real estate for a minimum of 3 years.

o    The qualifying fields of commercial real estate are defined above and include professionals engaged in any of these specific fields

 

“General Membership in CREW Network and CREW Tampa Bay is non-transferrable, non-refundable, and belongs to the individual (not the company)”

 

 

 

Application for Executive Membership in CREW Tampa Bay is open to commercial real estate professionals who meet the following criteria:

o    Active employment in the field of commercial real estate for a minimum of 15 years.

o    The qualifying fields of commercial real estate are defined above and membership is offered to professionals engaged in any of these specific fields.

and/or

o    Past CREW Tampa Bay Presidents

 

“Executive Membership in CREW Network and CREW Tampa Bay is non-transferrable, non-refundable, and belongs to the individual (not the company)”

 


Application for Associate Membership in CREW Tampa Bay is open to commercial real estate professionals with less than the minimum 3 years of applicable experience required for General Membership.  Please note that Associate Members are non-voting members.  Associate Members shall pay the same annual dues as General Members, but will have other requirements:  they must attend 75% of all meetings per year, and actively serve on a minimum of one (1) committee.  Associate Memberships are limited to ten percent (10%) of the total membership.  Associate Memberships have the same membership privileges except for voting rights or the right to hold office or a leadership role.

Application for Affiliate Membership in CREW Tampa Bay is open to any person within Commercial Real Estate industry whose profession does not meet the requirements of the other categories of membership. The Affiliate company designates who the Affiliate Member will be and that individual must serve and continue to serve during their membership term in an executive and/or senior management capacity (President/CEO/CFO/COO) with the Affiliate company. In addition to regular CREW annual dues, Affiliate companies must serve as an annual sponsor and pay a fee of $1,000 upon application of the Affiliate Member. Sponsorship dollars may be designated toward regular monthly meeting sponsorship or special events sponsorship opportunities. The type of sponsorship must be designated upon completion of application and any subsequent annual membership renewals. Affiliate Memberships are limited to ten percent (10%) of the total membership. No single affiliate category, services or product shall comprise more than thirty (30%) of the Organization’s total Affiliate Membership.  Affiliate Memberships have the same membership privileges except for voting rights or the right to hold office or a leadership role.

 

“Affiliate Membership in CREW Network and CREW Tampa Bay belongs to the Affiliate Company and is transferrable to a designee from the company who serves in an  executive and/or senior management capacity within the Affiliate company”

 

 

Annual dues for CREW Tampa Bay 2010 (January – December 2010) are $315, of which $160 is forwarded to CREW Network and $155 is retained by our local chapter.

 

Applications are currently accepted throughout the year on a rolling basis.  Once an application is completed online, the Executive Director submits the application to the Membership Committee who verifies the information submitted and contacts the references.  Once the review is complete, the Membership Committee’s recommendation and application is forwarded to the CREW Tampa Bay Board of Directors for a vote.  With majority approval, the applicant is notified of the membership decision by the Executive Director.  The full process typically takes 15-30 days.
